Front-End Engineering

Front-End Engineering focuses on creating experiences in web browser that users see and interact with. The discipline covers a broad area, from web design principles to complex JavaScript applications that manage data. The tools used in front-end engineering are ubiquitous--no matter the technology used on the back end, front-enders are responsible for delivering the experience and data to the person using the web application.

James is recent Iron Yard grad and former TA. When he’s not getting the word out about The Iron Yard, James can be found traveling, shopping or on the stage in Indianapolis’ Community Theater venue.

Jessica is an Indiana native and a graduate of Indiana University – Indianapolis where she studied Business and Organizational Leadership. Her background in education, corporate training and content management led her to The Iron Yard. She loves seeing others learning and achieving their goals.

Collin is an experienced agile project manager, digital product manager, UX research team leader, and software engineer. Collin loves learning, usability, and accessibility -- creating a great experience for all stakeholders. He also leads a local Meetup to mentor new software developers.

After attending Valparaiso University, Emily moved to Indianapolis to work as a social media account manager at a small agency. She then transitioned into creative staffing, where she learned her love for the local tech community -- and saw the increasing need for talent developers in the area.

Since getting out of journalism while the getting was good, Chris has worked in development and development management everywhere from Angie’s List to an advertising agency while trying to build Rails-based small businesses on the side.
