Free Code Education for Kids

At each of our locations we offer free code classes for kids. We believe in investing in the local tech economy for the long-run, and that means impacting the next generation.

These classes are 100% free and run on the generous donation of volunteers time. Spots are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.

To find out about upcoming Kids Classes at The Iron Yard, stay in touch with your local campus via our Kids Classes mailing lists. To sign up for a class, simply join the mailing list for your city and our local team will notify you of dates and details:

Do I need to be in class with my child?

If your child is younger than 13 years old, we require you to be in the class with them. Watch out, because you might just have more fun than they do.

Do I need to sign any legal paperwork in order for my child to take the class?

We require every student to have a waiver/release form signed by a parent or guardian. You will receive information from our local staff when you sign up to be on the mailing list and join a class.

Volunteers allow us to keep these classes free. If you’re passionate about helping kids learn, ask the local staff about jumping in.
