Over the last 4 years, the Iron Yard has led the code school industry in preparing students for careers as software developers. The industry as a whole is still young and its leaders face the challenge of a nascent market, as well as the demands facing all institutions in the higher education marketplace.
In considering the current environment, the board of The Iron Yard has made the difficult decision to cease operations at all campuses after teaching out remaining summer cohorts. We will finish out summer classes completely, including career support.
While our journey is coming to an end, we will always take pride in the thousands of people our staff helped to launch new careers.
At each of our locations we offer free code classes for kids. We believe in investing in the local tech economy for the long-run, and that means impacting the next generation.
Volunteers allow us to keep these classes free. If you’re passionate about helping kids learn, ask the local staff about jumping in.Contact staff at your closest campus.
These classes are 100% free and run on the generous donation of volunteers time. Spots are filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.
To sign up for our kids classes please contact your nearest campus.Contact your closest campus
If your child is younger than 13 years old, we require you to be in the class with them. Watch out, because you might just have more fun than they do.
We require every student to have a waiver/release form signed by a parent or guardian. You will receive information from our local staff when you sign up to be on the mailing list and join a class.
