Our educational resources provide a solution at the juncture of supply, demand, business and a broken education system. We are committed to training the highest-quality technology professionals in the world, both in skill and in character.
Our mission is to connect with people pursuing the craft and lifelong adventure of technology and help equip them with the skills they need to both get started and progress throughout their careers.
Our hope is that those we journey with are energized to make a difference through their work. We believe that passionate, talented people who love what they do will create and sustain great families, jobs, companies and solutions to the world’s problems.
It’s been said that the sum of parts can be greater than the whole. We couldn’t agree more. The Iron Yard is made up of a broad, deep and growing network of instructors, developers, designers, marketers, entrepreneurs, partners, board members and hiring partners, all of whom are passionate about about waking up each day and accomplishing our mission.
If you walk into any Iron Yard location on any given afternoon, you're as likely to come across an engineering team architecting software as you are to encounter a group enjoying craft beers over ping pong and video games. We've been told we're a work hard, play hard crew, and we couldn't agree more. Our standards for producing awesome stuff are extremely high, but so is our capacity to truly enjoy life alongside the people we work with. Here are a few characteristics of how we work:
People first, always
We absolutely love what we get to do every day, but more importantly we're passionate about who we get to do it with and the entrepreneurs and students we get to serve. They are the reason we come to work.
Flat structure and highly entrepreneurial
We don't manage people. We give them a goal and let them use their skills to accomplish it in the best way possible. This can be difficult if you like a lot of structure and daily direction. For the self-starter types, though, it's vocational bliss.
'Being home for dinner' policy
We work really hard, but a constantly imbalanced life isn't healthy for anyone. We work in a way that is fast, efficient and fun so we can invest in important areas of life outside the office.
